The rodded or wire bound flatter . This is the all metal version of my standard 2” flatter. I’ve been using metal handles in my struck tools for years but always made customers ones with wooden handles inserted. I’ve used these extensively in over 15 years of blacksmithing  teaching at nait here in Edmonton . A shattered wooden handle from an errant blow was out of commission until I could replace it. These are back in the game as soon as you bend them into alignment .

the heads are forged and heat treated 4140 alloy  . Soft on the struck side and hard on the contact surface. 
I can make other sizes and shapes but 2” is most popular. Just ask for others .
