This is a hammer eye punch. Hand forged from 4140 chrome molybdenum alloy steel
Very popular for those that forge with a striker ( person wielding a sledge hammer) . I make other hammer eye punches for use under a press or powerhammer .
I don’t fit the handle on these like my hammers.
These are friction tight only.
This allows quick dismounting of the head from the handle for dressing or grinding .
Made to punch hammer eyes in sizes from about one to five lbs.
punching and drifting is greatly improved and tool life extended by using non toxic Forge Ease forging lubricant
