My toughest tongs. one piece chromium molybdenum alloy forgings. These started as a  response to Blade smiths who’ve been asking for extra heavy duty tongs  for slinging around large billets of Damascus steel ( 15-20lbs chunks )while they’re creating it. 

They are forged from single pieces of 4140 alloy steel for high strength to weight ratio. Each pair are made from at least 3 pounds  1.5” round virgin bar stock. 
the size indicates what they hold best. Close sizes will also work.
