This is a great tool for flipping steaks or any other meat on the grill.  An authentic rail road track spike makes a fine handle. Twisted by the blacksmith in the vise for individual character. Length is approximately 15 inches  for the long and 18” for the extra long.
The iron is heated to over 2200°F to allow the steel to be forged and twisted to shape. Latter the food contact tip is reheated to 300° F and plunged into canola oil to preserve it and be food safe.300-400 degrees. This allows the metal pores to open and soak in the oil. This helps prevent rust
